Phi Phong: The Blood Demon draws on a folk legend from the northern highlands of Vietnam. The Phi Phong looks human, but feeds on the blood and life force of the living, and fear of it has passed down through generations of mountain communities.
Con and Duong’s mother, a shaman, is struck down when a ritual to drive out evil spirits turns against her. Con, an apprentice shaman, sets out with Duong for a remote, mist-covered village to save her. Soon after they arrive, a string of gruesome deaths begins, and suspicion falls on Mon and her daughter Lua.
The deeper the siblings dig, the clearer it becomes that the terror in the sacred forest does not come from demons alone. Buried secrets, old rituals and the darkness in people rise together, pulling Con and Duong into a hunt for the Phi Phong with no end in sight.
